High-quality equipment and regular maintenance ensure a long-life cycle for the equipment

Another entity that may not be thought of so much is the life cycle of the equipment. It is not enough for the scale to work and show some weight reading. The commercial scale must also be certified and this is done in Finland every three years. To our surprise, we have found that even large industrial companies have scales whose durability may not allow the first periodic verification to be carried out, at least without thorough remedial action. So, this is only after three years of use. It’s hard to say if this has been a conscious choice, but anyone involved in purchasing decisions for machinery and equipment can ask themselves whether my purchase has been on a sustainable footing in terms of my employer’s values. In addition to the choice of equipment, the durability during the life cycle can also be positively affected by regular maintenance or even the servicing of its scales.

Scales and dosing devices may only be serviced or calibrated when required by official regulations. Another way is to ensure that the company is in a position to maintain quality and its ability for quality and to continue the performance of the equipment by means of sufficiently frequent maintenance and calibration measures. This is every customer’s own choice, but Lahti Precision’s experts will be happy to help, you choose either way.
