Over the years, we have delivered a lot of weighing technology to Froneri Finland Oy’s Turenki plant. The equipment had worked great, but as the scale electronics were aging and, for example, spare parts availability was declining, it was time for new weighing terminals.
The solution we offered proved to be very technically efficient and it was easy to choose us as a supplier. Decision-making was also facilitated by the fact that we know Froneri’s needs and have been involved for years in maintaining of their scales.
“The renewal of the scales became topical with a larger automation renewal project, and we wanted to start renewing the weighing terminals at the end of their life cycle as planned. Although the existing terminals had served very well, when the availability of spare parts deteriorated, it was the right time to start replacing them,”says Lasse Jaakkola, Automation Engineer at Froneri Finland Oy.
By modernizing the equipment, we also upgraded the interfaces up to date. “We had asked for other offers, but it was easy to choose Tamtron, because the previous equipment had served so well,” Jaakkola continues.
The customer also visited our reference site and ended up with a similar installation method. The equipment was installed alongside the old equipment during operation and commissioned in a short time during a normal maintenance outage. The new devices have been operating smoothly since commissioning.
Tamtron’s long experience in food industry processes and problem solving ensures that optimal solutions and equipment can be found for different destinations. Accuracy, repeatability and reliability, as well as hygienic cleanability of materials and equipment, are key issues when designing systems for the food industry.
