Lahti Precision Oy supplies and installs button sensors in the support structures of silos for surface measurement. With a button sensor installed in the support structure, you can reliably measure, for example, the weight of a silo without changing the existing structures.
The sensors are installed in the holes drilled in the support structures. The existing support structures do not need to be changed or added except for the hole drilled for the sensor. Button sensor weighing is based on a cylindrical sensor, for which a hole is made in the support structure with a special tool.
A sensor based on strain strip technology measures the change in the shape of the hole due to the variation of the load. With a button sensor installed in the support structure, you can reliably measure, for example, the weight of a silo without changing the existing structures. The accuracy of the measurement is sufficient for normal process measurements and controls.
Thanks to the sensor’s small size and Lahti Precision’s extensive application know-how, the button sensor can also perform special measurements or handle control and monitoring, such as train access control in factory areas.
Installation of the button sensor system is quick and relatively easy. However, it is worth leaving it to our trained installer to ensure reliable operation of the system.
