When constructing accurate and reproducible dosing equipment, you should understand some basic things about weighing. For the weighing scale to be accurate, the mechanical structure of the scale must be properly designed taking into account e.g. different anchor points and possible pipe connections. In addition, the static accuracy of the scales is not the same as the dynamic accuracy, so the scales must be capable of serving the selected dosing technique. For example, whether it is continuous or batch dosing, what dosage rates and capacities are desired, and what range of measurement (x kg – y kg) the scale is used. The best result is achieved by having one responsible supplier for the equipment – this is where we find the best solutions.
Over 100 years of experience in the desiging and manufacturing of WeighingLAHTI scales and DosingLAHTI dispensers for a variety of bulk materials are key to designing an efficient and reliable plant. Our long-term experience in the behavior of various dry powder materials at different stages of the process is emphasized in the design.
In addition to dosing and weighing, we also have solutions and equipment for transferring powdered materials by various methods, such as storage and product silos, small or big bags or vehicle loading.
Tamtron supplies MixingLAHTI solutions for dry bulk materials’ mixing and for wet mixing. Application industries for dry material mixers are for example construction material (drymix), feed, food or chemical industries. MixingLAHTI wet mixing equipment are used widely in glue mixing for plywood and laminated veneer lumber (LVL).
Loading and dosing of bulk materials are often carried out using screws from the bottom of the silo. However, we have a self-developed and patented unique DosingLAHTI fluidization solution based on fluidisation of finely divided bulk material. By utilizing a small amount of compressed air and earth’s gravity, the material flows downward like a liquid. This is ensured by an optimum number of fluid plates and fluid cones to be placed in the silos and by a downwardly sloping fluid hoses located at the bottom of the silo.
In practice, fluid devices require no maintenance and, in addition, energy consumption compared to conventional transmission methods is significantly reduced. Long transport distances are also possible, which can, for example, allow the transfer of material in a silo in the middle of a building for loading by truck, train or ship.
Plant and system control is handled by our self-developed AutomationLAHTI control system. At its most extensive, besides plant control, includes the management of recipes and weighing data, as well as reporting and remote support services. The largest factory we have delivered has had about 50 scales controlled by the AutomationLAHTI system.
Cost-effective operation throughout the plant life cycle is ensured by our CareLAHTI service. Planned preventive maintenance and calibration of scales and dispensing equipment ensure efficient utilization of raw materials and minimize the amount of non-prime from the production process.
