Long experience in handling big bags and materials

The traditional products packed in FIBC Big Bags can be raw materials received in big bags, precursor materials stored for intermediate storage waiting to be processed, or end-products which are to be delivered to the customer. All dry, well-flowing materials are suitable for bags. These include, for example, fertilizers, animal fodder, flakes, cereals, other cereal products, sugar, metallurgical enriched materials, wood pellets, floor screeds, cement, circular economy products, soil or growth peat.

Our versatile big bag solutions – whether concerning big bag unloading or loading – are suitable and adaptable to the processes of different industries.  We have succeeded in developing a functional and modular concept that can be tailored to different uses, taking into account the individual needs of each industry and customer.

Depending on the bulk material handled the safety may become a question of essence. Some of the materials are explosive especially in form of very fine powder. This requires from the system supplier experience from designing and building norm filling dosing systems in ATEX-environment. It is typical for metallurgical products that some of the materials may be very toxic which is setting requirements for absolutely dustless working environment. This may also be the case when handling recycled materials where organic impurities may appear in the raw material mix.

The battery industry is on the rise

The proliferation of various electric vehicles and other electrical devices has exploded the need for battery production and raised the battery industry to a steep upward trend. The battery industry needs big bag handling equipment and dosing systems for the handling, storage and transportation of cathode materials and their precursors used in manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries.

The concept we have designed for the needs of the battery industry emphasizes in particular that valuable materials like lithium, cobalt and nickel can be efficiently utilized by automating the handling of big bags. From our modules, it is possible to build systems for handling cathode materials that work well in a process-like manner and thus increase the efficiency of operation for each variable.

In the handling of lithium and transition metals or circulated materials like dried black mass issues related to occupational safety and dust-freeness also come into question. The answer to this is also provided by an automated bagging system that is seamlessly tailored to the needs of the battery industry. Both big bag filling and IBC filling stations can be utilized for battery materials.
