Today, our customers in industry value competence, where the supplier is able to take responsibility around their hard-core competence. In the case of the technology offered by Lahti Precision, this category includes, for example, systems where loose material is dosed in a controlled manner into a liquid and further mixed into a slurry of a certain composition or a chemical mixture.
From bulk material to a liquid mixture of uniform quality – what should be taken into account when dosing?
In the first phase of the system unit, it is essential to understand the properties that affect the controlled dosing of the substance to be dosed into the process, such as, for example, the material’s grain size, fluidity, density and the required dosing capacity range. Based on the above, our experts know how to define the dosing method and technology most suitable for each case.
Depending on the process parameters, dosing can be implemented with, for example, dosing valves, screw or LIW (Loss-In-Weight) feeder. Of the above, Lahti Precision has its own component-level technological know-how combined with intelligent weighing automation. Depending largely on the amount of material to be dosed per time per unit, dosing can be carried out from, for example, a silo, a container or a big bag unloading station. Lahti Precision offers competitive, modular technology solutions for each of these.

Mixing and control of liquid and powder material with an automated system
Depending on the ingredients to be mixed, the mixing container for the liquid can be made of carbon steel, stainless or acid-resistant steel. In our network, you can find cost-effective, good supplier options for various types of tanks with equipment.
Measuring the amount of liquid and choosing a mixer system is based on the process goals defined together with the customer. Typical tank sizes in the systems we have delivered have been of the type 2-10 m3. The mixers can be equipped with a semi-automatic washing function as needed.
The dosing-slurry mixing system is controlled by an automation system designed and built by us. If the customer so wishes, the system can also be connected to the next level of factory automation (e.g. Valmet DNA, Siemens).
Systems of the above-mentioned type are used e.g. glue kitchens used in the forest industry, i.e. in the plywood and veneer wood industry. Similarly, in paint factories and in the production and recycling of battery metals (black mass* processing systems) and in various other process industry sites.

An efficient slurry mixing system with a complete solution
We always offer commissioning by our experts for the devices we deliver, as well as periodic maintenance and calibrations during their use. In addition, we are happy to provide an offer for the spare parts we recommend in connection with the systems delivery. As experts, we are able to take responsibility for the mapping requirements, planning, delivery, maintenance and keeping the system up to date for the complete system.

* Black mass is produced when batteries and accumulators are processed in the recycling process. Batteries and accumulators are made of metals, e.g. lithium, cobalt, nickel and manganese. When a battery or an accumulator reaches the end of its life cycle, it is collected, disassembled and crushed. As the end result of the process, the crushed material creates so-called black mass.
